Welcome to Robertsons Boatyard

Located on the beautiful River Deben in Suffolk, Robertsons is the longest established boatyard in Woodbridge.  Our site enjoys good quays with two slipways providing deep water access allowing both large and small craft to be hauled out.

First used by Robertsons in 1887, the Lime Kiln Yard had been used by boatbuilders as far back as the 1630's when men-of-war were built for England's navy.

Since then, the yard has produced many quality craft and today, traditional workmanship continues to be appreciated by our customers.  In this day and age, many traditional boatbuilding skills are becoming rare.  It is testimony to our craftsmen that yachts come from as far afield as the Channel Islands, the West Country and even the Isle of Man to enjoy our services.

Some 50 days into the row, an alarming forecast of hostile ice off the Ross Sea, and a realisation that the row would take five years to achieve on a five month supply of food caused Oliver to suspend the row.
