Oliver Hicks - Virgin Global Row

Robertsons Boatyard was the base for the final fitout of the 'Flying Carrot', Oliver Hicks' round the world rowing boat.

Greenwitch

During the winter of 2009-10 'Greenwitch', a Cornish Crabber Pilot Cutter originally fitted out by us and launched in 1987 returned for a refit.  Still in the same ownership, we were asked to refurbish the teak deck and to paint the rather tired GRP topsides in Awlgrip.  Her owner is extremely pleased with the results.  more ...

Craft for the 'Shackleton' Film

First Sight Films approched us to prepare three craft for the production of their Shackleton Film by recommendation from Poles Apart, the organisation advising the film makers on polar safety.

Two of our staff were taken by the film crew to Greenland to supervise and maintain the vessels in the extreme conditions prevailing.  Our accommodating nature was brought to the fore when we were asked to look after the actors in the boats! more...

Two Aluminium yachts were prepared for cruising in Arctic latitudes along with many steel, timber and GRP vessels which have been re-fitted prior to undertaking long passages.

De Jonge Jacob

At the request of our customer, a new pair of lee-boards for his dutch sailing barge were made in our workshops this winter (2009-10).  Having taken careful patterns from one of the original boards, the new ones were made from selected boards of European oak. more...
